The food was delicious and the staff are kind. Love the retro vibe. I got roast beef with mashed potato’s and greeen beans.. the best comfort food.
Place stays busy and is well worth the wait. Nothing beats a good WV slaw dog. I've been in a few times in my life but this last time was something special I took my kids on a trip to the theater close by and had stopped to let them eat dinner before the movie. I had went to pay my bill and was told it was already took care of someone had covered the bill. As I was waiting for the kids to use the restroom a lady walked by and told me I had really well behaved children and I didn't think much of it until I got on the road. Thank you and I'm gonna pay it forward one day.
Awesome food, place is packed!! absolute great servers and clean. watched them serve a table of 25 while we ate and still got our food out in about 20 minutes. That huge McBride burger definitely worth the wait and very fair priced. Men will want to try this add bacon lol. Never waited on a refill. Very kind place and well definitely coming back in a few days. And everytime we travel thru Welch! Hannah and Olivia were great!

I've been eating at the Sterling since I was a child. I've never had a sub that came even close. Over the years, remodeling has kept the Sterling up to date, but the food is the same great food I remember as a child.
This is a fun little restaurant in Welch. The people are super friendly. I’ll be back!
If you are ever in Welch,WV stop by this place. We tried the Sterling submarine that has been served for over 70 years! The Fat boy burgers were great too!
Where do I start, but this is one neat little place. We arrive around 8:30 on a Saturday night. We had 10 side by sides in our group. There was already another large group there. 2 more large groups came in after us. The waitress calmly told all of us that it was just her and one cook so it was going to be a little bit of a wait. They understood if we wanted to leave but they would do their best. I will tell you that their best between the 2 of them equals a full staff of 12 or so for many. Those 2 worked their butts off and not a person in the restaurant left. Places like this are the reason we love to visit West Virginia. The people there truly want you and your business. It feels so good to spend money at a town and store where they really do want your business. I know our group tipped her very well and I hope others did too. The owners have some top notch employees! Our cheeseburgers were good too. It is a neat little closed down drive in. I would recommend to anyone!
